Committees
In order to carry out all the projects that Kiwanis is involved with throughout the year, each member is asked to join one or more committees.

Name Chairs Description
Board of Directors Meets the second Monday of each month at the Pines, 5:15 pm.
Club Meeting and Administration The Committee on Club Meeting and Administration is responsible for providing the most effective club meeting possible. It supervises the operation of three subcommittees, House, Program, and Interclub.
Community Services The Committee on Community Services should implement projects on the arts, business affairs, citizenship, civic improvement, community beautification, conservation, health, international understanding, literacy, public affairs, safety or help for senior citizens and disabled persons.
Division Council Meeting All Board Members Attend
ELIMINATE Committee raises funds and recommends awards related to the World Wide Service Project.
Finance The Committee on Finance is responsible for reviewing the performance of the Club Treasurer, for recommending financial guidelines, for review of financial reports and for any recommendations it may have on financial matters of the club.
Foundation Board Foundation Finances
Fundraising The committee is responsible for raising funds to meet Club budget responsibilities. This does not include the Veterans' Day Breakfast or ELIMINATE fundraising, but does include the Daddy Daughter event, any BBQ or other fundraising effort.
Grants Committee Recommends to the Club and the Foundation Organizations to whom grants should be given.
House Committee
Human and Spiritual Values The Committee on Human and Spiritual Values should implement projects that support spiritual development, provide human companionship and comfort, or offer counseling and guidance. Projects can encourage interfaith and interdenominational religious activity, such as prayer, but should not support a specific religious sect.
Interclub
Kiwanis Family The Committee on Kiwanis Family shall devise ways and means to establish and support Kiwanis Kids clubs in elementary schools, Builders Clubs in junior high or middle schools, Key Clubs in high schools, Circle K clubs in the universities and colleges and Aktion Clubs for adults with disabilities, and should encourage and promote the activities of these clubs.
Meals on Wheels Deliver meals to the needy
Membership Growth and Education The Committee on Membership Growth and Education should strive to increase membership according to the standards provided in the bylaws. The committee should consider all Membership Applications and submit its recommendations to the board of directors. The committee also should develop an effective orientation and induction ceremony for new members and promote regular attendance by all members at club meetings.
Public Relations Responsible for obtaining publicity for the club and for ensuring that the club has appropriate materials touting the club.
Social Committee Plans and implements social events for the Club
Spelling Bee Organizes and operates a Spelling Bee for elementary students in Sarasota
Veterans' Day Breakfast Committee to put on Veterans' Day Breakfast
Young Children: Priority One The Committee on Young Children: Priority One should implement projects for children, prenatal through age five. Projects can addrress maternal and child health, childcare, early development, nutrition, parenting education and support, advocacy, pediatric trauma, or safety.
